What can an eyelift do for me?
Is your upper eyelid area beginning to droop a little? Does it give you a sleepy expression? Would you like to regain the wide-awake look you had when you were younger? Is drooping or sagging skin over your eye lids restricting your vision, or falling back into your eye socket giving you a hollow-eyed look?
If so, you might be a good candidate for a blepharoplasty (eye lift surgery, eyelid surgery).

If you have too much skin or fat in your eye area, it makes you look miserable, old and tired. Blepharoplasty isn't very invasive as surgical proceedures go, and the results are quite dramatic - lasting as long as fifteen years sometimes. It is usually performed on people over the age of thirty, but can be done on younger patients if the shape of the upper eyelid is causing problems. People in the far east often have upper eyelid surgery purely for the cosmetic look.
Unlike in the illustration, you don't need to have the skin completely covering the eyelid before it is lifted. Indeed, it might have a tendency to fall behind the lid into the eye socket giving you a heavy-lidded, sleepy expression. You should still be a good candidate.
Any incisions made will be hidden in your natural creases and skin folds, so these should not be visible after the eyelid surgery. Drooping or sagging fat in the upper eyelid area, any excess muscle and excess skin is carefully removed, then very fine stiches are used to close the incision again.
The whole eyelift proceedure should take under two hours and is one of the most effective proceedures you can have if you want to look youthful and alert.

Having an eye lift if you need one. I know of no non-surgical alternative, although darker eyeshadow on the overhanging skin blended gently upwards will soften your look.
