Why have blepharoplasty?
One of the things that make us feel old the most when we look in the mirror is wrinkles and bags under the eyes.

Bags under the eyes, unless we were born with them, are usually caused by the small pad of fat that is naturally under the eyes, sagging with age.
Bags under the eyes can be removed with a blepharoplasty. The lower eyelid fat spilling over the rim of the eye socket is taken away, then ligaments that holding your eyelid in place will be tightened, and the excess skin is either surgically removed or treated with laser resurfacing to remove the wrinkles.
Any incision lines will follow natural creases in the lower eyelid so scarring is not usually an issue, in fact if you still have fairly elastic skin, and baggy eyes are your only lower eyelid problem, you might be able to have a 'transconjunctival blepharoplasty - that is the fat is taken from the inside of the eyelid, through the conjunctiva, without any surgical incision in your skin.

I don't know of any non-surgical options for curing bags under the eyes, so if you do have baggy eyelids - a blepharoplasty is the only solution I've found.
