Date palm kernel extract exhibits antiaging properties and significantly reduces skin wrinkles
Hormones have an important role in skin appearace and the levels of hormones have a part in skin aging and wrinkling. There has been increased interest recently in the use of natural substances such as phytohormones in anti wrinkle products so we made a date palm kernel extract.
This has a high concentration of phytohormone so we looked to see if it had an antiageing or antiwrinkle benefits. Ten females between the age of 46 and 58 used a cream containing 5% date palm kernel or a placebo around their eyes 2 times every day for the next 5 weeks.
Topical date palm kernel at a concentration of 5 percent reduced the area covered by wrinkles by 27% and reduced the depth of remaining wrinkles by 3.5%. Upon visual inspection 60% of the volunteers seemed significantly improved in appearance. This shows date palm kernel has antiwrinkle effects in skin care products.

I note the sample size of women was very small, and there are better ways of measuring skin improvement than a visual inspection. It would be interesting to see further research on Date Palm kernel oil.
